Easy Fund Raising Milestone Reached

Over £100 has been donated so far simply by shopping on-line. See how you too could help the club without it costing you a penny.

A year ago Nick Lee looked into a system called "Easy Fund Raising" and found that it is a really simple-to-use system that will bring in small donations from retailers that go straight into the bank for Crowthorne Archers!

What happens is you go through EasyFundRaising's website and click on the retailer you want to buy from, and then you are passed through to that retailer's site, where you make your purchase as normal (make sure your basket is empty when you enter the site - donations will not be made for anything not purchased as part of that pass-through session). On completion of the purchase you should soon get an email from EasyFundRaising (can take up to a day) telling you exactly how much has been donated to Crowthorne Archers. Remember, this is not out of YOUR pocket - it comes from the retailer. Win-win, as we often say in the Archery world when talking about archery equipment!!!

All of the top retailers are on there - Tesco, Sainsbury, M&S, Booking.com, Waterstones, Debenhams, PC World, BT, Microsoft, Amazon, Ebay, John Lewis, The AA, Very, Wayfair, Waitrose, Gap, Apple, Argos, Cineworld, Boots, Currys.... This list is endless, and so are the opportunities! Each of them has their own value of contribution - Amazon for example will donate up to 1.5% of your purchase, Boots up to 3%, John Lewis up to 2%, etc. I do say "...up to..." and I'm sure it will scale up or down based on the value of the purchase, but hey, it's FREE MONEY!

So this is what you do....:

  • Go onto http://EasyFundRaising.org.uk
  • In the search box on the right start typing in "Crowthorne" and you will see "Crowthorne Archers" in the list. Select it and it will take you to the page describing our cause. You can see the current total raised and the number of supporters (currently 15 !) already signed up.
  • Click on the "Support this cause" button and create an account through Facebook or Email as you choose.
  • You will see an invite to add a Donation Reminder which links in via your browser (e.g. Chrome) to let you know if there are any fund raising opportunities on the site you are currently shopping on (it might not work for Amazon though).

So, with your account created, all you do now is go onto the EasyFundRaising website and log on, select your chosen retailer, which takes you onto that retailers website, make sure your basket is empty first, select and make your purchase, and see the contribution you have gathered for Crowthorne Archers!!!

Every little helps!!
