Crowthorne Archers Frostbite League
Introduction to the Frost Bite
This is a fun and social competition for those who want to shoot during the winter months for the Frostbite Trophy. .
It is open to all members and we run the League on Sundays from around the beginning of November to the end of March (5 months) with results issued monthly.
All club members are invited to participate, but there is no obligation to do so. You may join in whenever you wish, and shoot in it as often as you wish, as long as you can achieve at least one score per month for at least 4 months. When you have scored a round simply do as you would with any other scored round - email or hand into the Records Officer or put it in the envelope in the Storage unit.
How it works
1. Rounds will only be shot outdoors on Sundays (not Bank Holidays).
2. A Frostbite round is 6 sighters followed by 3 dozen arrows, shot at a distance of 30m on an 80cm face.
3. Scoring will be metric, 10 zone - i.e., 10, 9, 8, 7, etc.
4. An Archer may only shoot one Frostbite per day (cannot shoot 2 on same day, even if different bow types…)
5. Any bow style may be used.
6. There will be a Trophy for 1st place, and medals for 2nd and 3rd.
7. This is a Winner-Takes-All competition.
8. An Archer’s arrows shot must be the first they shoot at the Frostbite distance.
9. An Archer’s League position with be determined using your best score for each month and then by the average of your best monthly scores; the highest will be first, and so on down. Must be a minimum of 4 months entered otherwise a zero may be entered for a missing month.
10. If you start shooting on the Frostbite Target then your score is expected to be submitted; if you do not submit a score then your score will be deemed to be 0 and will be entered into your month’s submissions…
11. These rules may be subject to modification if it is deemed that the results do not reward the spirit of the competition.
